New Web domains expand possibilities
Over 160 new gTLDs (generic Top-Level Domains) have joined the traditional .com, .org and .edu’s since October. Among these, many countries such as China, Australia and Switzerland have been granted country-specific domains as Internet access across the globe grows. Berlin and Vienna have registered their own city-specific gTLDs, .berlin and .wien. Even the domains’ languages are being expanded to include Arabic, Russian and Chinese scripts in addition to the traditional Latin.
